The concept of energy is somehow what life is based on. As mammals, we need energy to adequately “fuel” our different organs (heart, kidneys, liver, etc.), we need energy to properly maintain our internal temperature.
We also need to mobilize energy in more “extreme” situations like running, jumping, etc.… As you know, there are different levels of activity: by just walking around your neighbourhood block, you will not need as much energy as a marathoner! The same goes for dogs, and this consideration sets apart breeding dogs.
