Over the past weekend, I immersed myself in an enthralling book and discovered a concept that might revolutionize the way dog and cat breeders set their goals: the idea of “dream outcomes.”

The Universal Pillars and the Breeder’s North Star

These are not just any goals; they’re the pinnacle of aspirations, the mountaintops we all hope to reach in our lifetimes.

Interestingly, dream outcomes often center around three foundational pillars: health, wealth, and relationships.

It’s almost like the universe is whispering, “Focus on these, and you’ll find your true North Star.”

Tailoring Dream Outcomes for the Breeding Community

This brought me to a unique thought: How does the notion of dream outcomes translate for our vibrant community of dog and cat breeders? 

Yep, that’s the thought that took center stage in my mind and even made a cameo in my dreams! (Yes, I dream of cats, dogs, and existential thoughts, don’t you?)

With fresh morning energy, during my journaling time, I channeled these thoughts into an engaging exercise. 

Imagine a table that encapsulates these dream outcomes, tailor-made for our community. 

I know, it sounds intriguing!

Healthy Litters: All puppies or kittens are born healthy without any complications.	Business Success: Achieving financial stability and success through ethical breeding practices.	Homing Success: All animals are adopted into loving, forever homes quickly.
Longevity: The animals you breed have long, healthy lives.	Championship Titles: Winning top prizes at reputable dog or cat shows.	Recognition: Gaining recognition as a reputable breeder from official organizations.
Temperament: Achieving the ideal temperament for the breed standard.	Waitlist: Having a long waitlist of qualified buyers before the animals are even born.	Collaboration: Forming beneficial partnerships with veterinarians and other breeders.
No Genetic Issues: Breeding lines free of hereditary diseases.	Financial Stability: Achieving financial security through ethical and successful breeding.	Reputation: Gaining excellent word-of-mouth recommendations and reviews.
Consistency: Consistently produce animals that are great examples of the breed standard.		Community Involvement: Being an active and positive contributor to local and online pet communities.
Training Success: Puppies or kittens are easily trainable and adapt well to various roles such as therapy animals, working dogs, etc.		Client Relationships: Maintaining long-term relationships with those who have adopted their animals, including receiving regular updates and photos.
No Returns: No animals ever returned due to health or behavioral issues.		Rescue Involvement: Being able to contribute to the rescue and rehoming of animals not just from their litters but also from less fortunate backgrounds.
Rare Breeds: Successfully breeding and conserving a rare or endangered breed.		Transparency: Being recognized for exceptional transparency in all breeding practices.
Ethical Advances: Being at the forefront of ethical breeding practices and technology.		Veterinary Relations: Having strong relations with veterinarians who endorse your breeding program.
Sustainability: Operating a completely environmentally sustainable breeding program.		Multi-Breed Mastery: Successfully breeding more than one breed to the same high standards.
Pioneer Methods: Pioneering new, ethical methods of breeding or training that become industry standards.		Educational Content: Successfully producing content, like articles or videos, that become widely accepted educational resources.
